Mindy Lee isn’t just running for City Commissioner—she’s a proud member of the
Margate community who truly cares about the people and families who call this
city home. After 27 years in Margate, Mindy has built her life, business, and
community relationships here. Through her work as a local business owner,
community advocate, and nonprofit leader, she has had the privilege of
helping families, children, seniors, and others throughout the community.
These experiences have strengthened her belief that local government should
be about people first—listening to residents, understanding their concerns,
and working together to make a meaningful difference.
Mindy believes that Margate is more than just a place to live—it’s a community
we all share and have a responsibility to protect and strengthen. She is running
with a simple promise: Your Voice, Your Choice! She wants residents to feel heard,
respected, and included in the decisions that affect their neighborhoods and their
future. Her priorities include financial transparency, responsible spending, public safety,
quality city services, thoughtful growth, and preserving the welcoming character
that makes Margate special. Mindy brings a caring heart, a strong work ethic,
and a genuine commitment to her neighbors—and she is ready to listen, serve,
and work alongside the residents of Margate to build an even stronger community together.

Senior Connect (non profit), supports seniors and provides free weekly wellness check-ins
Fur Seniors Fur Seniors (non-profit) places Senior pets with Senior citizens
Feral To Friendly Feline Rescue (non-profit) caring for over 120 homeless
feral cats on the streets, while reducing their population through TNR.

Why I'm Running...
1. To Bring Residents’ Voices Back to City Hall
A city commissioner should represent the people who live in the community. I am running because residents deserve a leader who listens, communicates openly, and makes decisions based on what is best for the people of Margate—not outside influences.
2. To Protect Taxpayers and Promote Responsible Spending
Families and seniors work hard for their money. I believe every tax dollar should be spent responsibly, with accountability and transparency. My goal is to review spending, eliminate waste, and make sure our budget protects essential services while respecting taxpayers.
3. To Preserve the Small-Town Community Feel of Margate
Margate is more than just a city—it is home. Growth and development should be carefully planned to improve our community without taking away the character, safety, and quality of life residents value.
4. To Support Seniors, Families, and Those in Need
A strong community is measured by how it cares for its residents. I want to expand support, resources, and programs that help seniors, children, families, and individuals who need assistance.
5. To Improve Public Safety and Quality of Life
Residents deserve safe neighborhoods, well-maintained parks, clean public spaces, and reliable city services. Supporting first responders and making safety a priority helps every family feel secure.
6. To Bring Real-Life Experience to Government
I am not a career politician. My experience as a local business owner, and nonprofit leader has taught me how to solve problems, manage resources, listen with compassion, and advocate for others—skills that are needed in city leadership.

Residents deserve to know how decisions are made and where their money goes. I want to encourage open communication, honesty, and accountability so residents have confidence in their local government.
